Marketplace Declaration

Last Updated: October 2026

This declaration explains how the GigHour marketplace works, who takes part in it, and how money moves through it. It is provided to our payment partner and to every user of the platform.

1. Who we are

GigHour (www.gighour.com and the GigHour mobile apps) is an online marketplace in India that connects employers who need short, hourly work done with workers who are available to do it. The platform is operated by:

GigHour
2nd Floor, 235, Proworks
Binnamangala, 13th Cross Road, Indiranagar 2nd Stage
Near Amnesty International India
Bengaluru, Karnataka 560038
GSTIN: 29DMYPS9422M1ZO

2. The parties

  • Employers post hourly jobs, choose workers, confirm the work and pay for it. Businesses such as event companies, hotels and restaurants, retail and malls, and logistics and delivery firms can join as employers, including through our Become a Partner programme.
  • Workers browse jobs, apply, do the work and are paid for the hours worked.
  • GigHour provides the technology that brings the two together: job posting and discovery, applications, attendance confirmation with one-time codes, payment collection and payout, ratings, messaging and support.

3. What the "Become a Partner" programme is, and is not

"Partner" on our website means a business that hires workers through GigHour (an employer on the buyer side of the marketplace). It is not a programme for sellers, vendors, sub-merchants or resellers. A partner does not sell goods or services to other users through GigHour, does not receive settlements from GigHour, and does not collect money from other users on our platform. The only people other than GigHour who receive money through the platform are the workers who have done a job.

4. Our role

  • GigHour is a technology platform. It does not employ the workers who find jobs on it, and it does not supervise or control how the work is carried out. The work arrangement for each job is between the employer and the worker, on the terms shown in the job.
  • GigHour does not sell goods, hold stock, or provide any service other than the platform itself.
  • GigHour does not accept deposits, lend money, or run a wallet that users can top up and spend.

5. How money moves

  1. The employer posts a job with an hourly rate. Optionally, the employer pays a refundable advance ("Booking Protection") to secure the booking.
  2. A worker is selected and accepts. Attendance is confirmed with a one-time code, and the hours worked are recorded.
  3. When the work is complete, the employer pays through our payment partner, Cashfree Payments, using UPI. The amount shown before payment is itemised: the worker's wages, any tip the employer chooses to add, GigHour's platform fee, and GST on that fee, less any advance or credit already held.
  4. Once the payment is confirmed, the worker's share (wages plus any tip) is scheduled for payout. Payouts are made through Cashfree Payouts, normally on the next day, to the UPI ID or bank account that the worker has added to their own profile. Payouts are never made to a third party chosen by the employer.
  5. GigHour keeps only its platform fee (and collects the GST on it). The fee is charged on top of the wages; it is not deducted from the worker's wages or tips.

The rate of the platform fee is set by GigHour, can differ by job size, and is shown on screen, with the GST, before the employer confirms any payment. GST is charged only on GigHour's platform fee, never on wages or tips, and GigHour issues a GST invoice for its fee as required by law.

6. Advance, cancellations, refunds and disputes

  • Advance. Any part of an advance that is not used for a job is returned to the employer as credit, and can be refunded to the account it was paid from.
  • Cancellations. An employer can delete a job without charge until a worker has accepted it. If an employer cancels after a worker has accepted, a cancellation compensation, based on how close to the start time the cancellation happens, is payable to the worker. See our Cancellation & No-Show Policy.
  • Refunds. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • Disputes. Payment disputes should be reported within 7 days of the job. We review the job record (applications, attendance codes, hours and messages) and help the parties reach a fair outcome, as set out in our Terms of Service.

7. Onboarding and verification

  • Every user signs in with a mobile number confirmed by a one-time password.
  • Workers create a profile and add a payout UPI ID or bank account. Bank details are checked for a valid format before they are saved.
  • Employers add their business details, and may add a GST number. Identity and business details submitted for verification are reviewed by our team as part of verification.
  • Workers and employers can rate each other after a job. Accounts that break our rules can be suspended or removed.

8. Conduct we do not allow

Users must follow our Terms of Service. In particular, the platform may be used only to find and offer lawful hourly work. Fraud, fake jobs or accounts, taking payment outside the platform to avoid its fees, illegal work, and harassment are prohibited, and we act on reports of them. Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Complaints and contact

For any question, complaint or request about a payment, a job or this declaration, write to support@gighour.com or call +91 8300752890, or use our Contact page. We aim to reply within 3 business days.

GigHour declares that the description above is a true account of how its marketplace works at the date shown, and that it will update this page when the way the marketplace works changes.
