A Day in the Life

Mall retail shifts typically run 10 AM - 10 PM (12 hours) with breaks, or split into 6-hour morning/evening shifts. You'll start with store opening procedures - counting cash, checking stock, cleaning displays. During business hours, customer assistance is primary. Sales staff approach browsers, cashiers manage checkout queues, stockers handle deliveries and replenishment. Lunch breaks are staggered to maintain coverage. Evening and weekend rushes require all hands on deck. Closing involves cash reconciliation, security checks, and preparing for next day.
